New York Bar Exam Format

The New York Bar Exam lasts two days.  On day one of the New York Bar Exam, a Multistate Performance Test (MPT) question, five New York essay questions, and 50 state multiple choice questions are given. On the second day of the New York Bar Exam, the Multistate Bar Exam is administered.  Click here for more information about AmeriBar's Multistate Bar Review Course and learn how it can help you pass the New York Bar Exam.

New York Bar Exam Scoring Information

The MBE counts for 40% of your total score on the New York Bar Exam.  The New York essays count for 40%.  The MPT portion of the New York Bar Exam counts for 10%.  The New York multiple choice questions count for 10% of your total score.  The scores are added to determine whether an applicant passes the New York Bar Exam.
